Mishap's Second Edition, CD, RE

Newsflash: Shelby earns her Rally
Excellent Title in three straight shows, moving straight up from Advanced to
finish!! She earned all three titles in 4 weekends of showing with
back-to-back legs from start to finish with no non-qualifying runs and most legs
with placements, perfect or near-perfect scores. We're very proud of her!
A little dog with a personality that can't be beaten,
outgoing (almost to a fault), with exceptional talent in performance events and
as a pet therapy dog-- that's my Shelby Sheltie! All of my puppies go to their
homes with the agreement that should the owner be unable to keep them, they
will be returned to me, and Shelby was no exception. Sure enough, a year later,
Shelby came back to me and her "dynamite in a small package" attitude
stole my heart right away-- I knew I could never let her go again.

Shelby is following in her parent's paw prints
(Carson's Little
Mishap, CDX, CGC, O-VCCX and Bronwynn's Chosen By Chance, CD, CGC, VCC) by
earning her CD in grand style: back-to-back legs with no non-qualifying scores
and at least one placement. Shelby also earned one leg toward her CDX
before taking a semi-retirement with me as I became pregnant with first our
daughter and then our son. She has come back out of retirement in the same
style, earning her Rally Novice, Advanced and Excellent titles with multiple
perfect scores and placements! What a heart this little dog has.
Now nearly 11 yrs of age, she is probably permanently retired unless she
just asks to come back out locally for that CDX. Sometimes life gets in
they way of things and before you know it, the time for something else has
passed. I'm certain that she would have done wonderfully but she lacks the
same spark she once had for the stresses of temperature changes, long travel,
hotel room stays, upset schedules and early-morning performances. Though I
love to compete with the dogs, it has never been my interest to force them to do
things they aren't enjoying doing. For now, she's thoroughly enamored with
following my young children around, hoping they drop cookie crumbs.
